Recovery is often a moment, an important turning point where stability begins, and harmful behaviors stop. It is a necessary first step, and one that takes courage. But recovery alone is not always enough to sustain long-term change.
Restoration is a process. It is the steady, intentional work of rebuilding a life with new habits, healthy relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose. While many programs focus on helping women reach stability, restoration helps women move forward with the tools that reduce the risk of returning to destructive patterns.
True restoration takes time. It means gently undoing the habits, trauma, and learned behaviors that led not only to addiction, but also to the complete series of events behind it. This kind of healing cannot be rushed. It requires patience, accountability, structure, and the opportunity to relearn what may never have been taught in the first place.
At Naomi House, we understand that lasting restoration happens through a process, not pressure. Our program gives women the time they need, often several months to over a year, to heal, grow, and practice new ways of living in a Christ-centered, supportive community. We believe that when women are given the space to truly rebuild, restoration becomes not only possible, but sustainable.
At Naomi House, restoration happens within community. Women live together in our historic home, which includes six bedrooms and shared spaces designed to encourage connection and belonging. Participants share daily life as much as their schedules allow. They live together, worship together, eat together, and spend time together in an environment rooted in care, respect, and faith. This shared rhythm helps replace isolation with companionship and creates space for encouragement, accountability, and growth.
We believe community living offers safety and healthy support for women walking through similar challenges. It provides a foundation for building positive relationships and learning how to engage in healthy friendships. Naomi House is also one of the few recovery homes in the area partnered with DHS to support family reunification. When possible, we work through DHS to help restore the child parent relationship, recognizing that healing often extends beyond the individual. Through Christ-centered community, women are supported not only in their own restoration, but also in rebuilding connections that matter most.
At Naomi House, restoration is guided by Scripture and rooted in the truth that God meets us in broken places and walks with us toward healing. The Bible offers wisdom, hope, and direction for navigating a fallen world, reminding us that transformation is possible through Christ. Scripture tells us that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, and that we are not conformed to past patterns but renewed through the transformation of our minds. These truths shape how we support women as they move forward in recovery and restoration.
Our recovery and restoration curriculum is Christ-centered and informed by well-established programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, and other trusted recovery models. Christian recovery programs take a holistic approach, addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of addiction. They emphasize surrendering to Jesus Christ, engaging with Scripture, prayer, accountability, and community support as foundations for long-term healing and sobriety.
While grounded in proven recovery principles, our program is intentionally customized to meet the unique and specific needs of women. We recognize that many women carry layers of trauma, broken relationships, and unmet needs that require compassion, patience, and individualized care. Through biblical guidance and Christ-centered support, Naomi House helps women rebuild their lives with faith, understanding, and renewed purpose.
At Naomi House, restoration includes learning the practical life skills needed to succeed beyond recovery. Our goal is to help women build stability and confidence in every area of life, including their homes, families, health, and workplaces. Healing is not only about freedom from addiction, but also about gaining the tools to live responsibly, independently, and with purpose.
Naomi House is a return-to-work program focused on helping participants reintegrate into their communities. For women who are able to work, we assist with finding employment and developing workplace skills that support long-term success. Participants are encouraged to rebuild healthy routines and learn how to balance work, relationships, and personal responsibility as they prepare for life after the program.
We also provide access to social and physical health skill counselors who work directly with participants in the home. Through partnerships with local hospitals and behavioral health organizations, we help women address medical or behavioral health needs that may affect their recovery. At Naomi House, we believe restoration happens most fully when women live, work, and build their futures within the communities they call home.
At Naomi House, we believe restoration often extends beyond the individual to include the family. Addiction and life-controlling struggles can deeply impact relationships, especially between parents and children. Healing those relationships takes time, patience, and consistent support, and it is an important part of long-term restoration.
Naomi House is one of the few recovery homes in the area that partners with DHS to support family reunification. When possible, we work alongside DHS and other appropriate agencies to help restore the child parent relationship in a safe, structured, and healthy way. This process focuses on accountability, stability, and the wellbeing of both the parent and the child.
Through counseling, life skills development, and a supportive Christ-centered community, women are encouraged to rebuild trust and strengthen family connections. We understand that restored families look different for every woman. Whether reunification is immediate, gradual, or still in progress, Naomi House walks with women as they work toward healing, healthy boundaries, and renewed hope for themselves and their families.
